How Do You Create an Offering?
Creating an offering requires a lot of information-gathering, fact-checking, and writing. Below, you’ll find the major sections that should be visible for potential investors to peruse when you start a crowdfunding campaign.
Basic Business Information
The first thing you should have available is the name of the business and the date of its inception, if applicable, as well as the community the business will be located in.
Target Investment Goal
Fairly high up on the page should also be your target investment goal. Place this in a spot immediately visible to your potential investors so they know how much you’re aiming to raise, and make sure to have a subheading giving a brief description of what the money will be used for. You may also want to have a minimum investment amount per investor listed (ex: $200, $500, or more).
Detailed Description of the Offering
Somewhere on the page, you should make available a detailed description of what the funds will be used for. This can be supplemented by graphics or copies of documents explaining the campaign goal, as well as any relevant legal documentation you care to share with potential investors that will make your business more appealing.
Team
A description of the management structure and team involved in the development and execution of your project will be extremely important to potential investors. This section will not only give them an idea of how the business will function day-to-day, but also puts a “face” on the business and offers a personal connection.
Resources/Links
If you have any relevant resources that could be useful for your potential investors, you can link to them in a sidebar or further down the page. These could include things such as links to Facebook, Twitter, or other social media, websites, email address, etc.
