Business: Fast, Casual Dining
Offering Date: July 3, 2017
Fundraising Goal: $500,000
“We are a new kind of fast casual operating in white space – the empty blank space between fast casuals such as Panera and Chipotle, and sit-downs such as Chili’s and Olive Garden. We are on a mission to make it a pleasure for people to dine out, using technology to save time and money. And we believe better eating will help people feel better and look better.”
It would be offensive to label Farm + Vine a farm-to-table establishment. After all, the term “farm-to-table” has shifted from being a thoughtful and strategic method for delivering fresh, locally sourced food to customers, to being a well-marketed food fad.
F+V is more than that. Much more.
Using self-serve kiosks, technology that is quickly finding its way into other eateries such Panera Bread Co. and Wendy’s, F+V plans to deliver fresh, simple menu items to its customers while saving them time.
Unlike other fast food chains with self-serve kiosks, the absence of behind-the-counter help will not create a cold and impersonal dining area. It’s quite the opposite. F+V offers a dining area which allows for “social dining, where friends and family can gather to strengthen bonds and create memories.” Drinks such as locally crafted beers and wines will be set out for self-pouring, which gives the space an intimate feel – like you’re dining at a friend’s instead of a fast food restaurant.
Simplicity is key for F+V which has a menu with two types of deliverable (bowls and tacos) and three menu categories (California stir-fry, tacos and salads). In keeping with simplicity, the eatery pledges not to have freezers or microwaves in their kitchens. With a simple menu and a from-scratch philosophy, customers can be guaranteed fresh ingredients with each visit.
These innovative food and space designs come from Doug Sams, owner of sandwich behemoth D.Brian’s. With more than 30 years in the food industry Sams brings a consumer-focused approach to food and dining. He understands that Minnesotans are looking for convenient, real food at a reasonable price.
F+V is looking for Minnesotans who share their belief in better eating to join them on this exciting journey by becoming equity shareholders.
